Marketing your Voice-Over business doesn’t have to be complicated, here’s a simple approach to organizing you lists of leads, contacts, and clients, and how you can approach contacting them and storing information in a CRM system.

The basics of marketing yourself as a VO Talent are to reach out to new prospects and then based upon how they respond, funnel them into your marketing system.

In a nutshell, a cold prospect will either reply or not reply to your initial outreach. Depending on which they do, you can then consider them a “Lead” or an “Attempted to Contact (ATC) Lead”.

The next stage after that would be if they hire you, at which point they’d become a “Client” or “Contact”.

No matter which category they will fall into, you will want to periodically follow up with them to keep top of mind and gain repeat work from Clients, and turn Leads into Clients.

The Flow Chart below will help you visualize a basic approach to this process and you can download a PDF Version at the bottom of this post as well.
